Valentine’s day card
Winona State University
Concept/Purpose of the Work:
Target audience: all the lovers experienced this painful, frustrating epidemic time. Reasons: A global epidemic suddenly altered people’s life both in 2020 and 2021. “Keep social distance"" is not strange to us anymore. Lovers who are unable to meet with each other due to the job requirements or policy, especially for our nurses and doctors. This card is aimed to add a little sweet to people’s heart. Whenever where we are, what we do, our love, our miss could reach to each other. There is no distance between lovers. Illustration notes: when the card flat in the table, the portraits of the boy and girl show on both side of the card, it represents love and miss. Once it is folded into a 3D box, it turns out to be several pieces of layers. Seeing from two sides respectively, boy and girl are separated in places due to the COVID, they are missing each other. This big miss transforms into the magic that brings his/ her lover to him/her. When you pull the inside card out, you would see the illustration: both girl and boy are holding the same heart, now they are connected. Goal: this story is kind of theatrical, but it's a true fact between lovers in 2020-2021, I want this card not only be romantic and interesting to recipient but also give them some energy, encouragement. As you look at the card, you are missing him/her and this card will remind you that he and she are also thinking about you, in this moment you are connected with each other.
