Minnesota Spokesman Reader Brand Identity
Submitter:
Peter Anderson
Company:
Deluxe Corp
Concept/Purpose of the Work:
As part of Deluxe's reality series, The Small Business Revolution, the Minnesota Spokesman Recorder received a brand makeover. The Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder (MSR) enjoys a living legacy as the oldest Black-owned newspaper in the state of Minnesota and one of the longest-standing, family-owned newspapers in the country.
By making design choices that celebrate the MSR's impact on the community and long history, this new identity brings to life the powerful brand presence.
Results of the Work:
Reaction by stakeholders was very emotional. More importantly, the delivery of the brand within the community along Lake Street reclaims MSR's importance as a voice of the POC community.
How the Work Was Delivered to the Masses:
This brand was rolled out in a variety of tactics across both the print and digital spectrum. It was also a key deliverable for the episode of the Small Business Revolution series.
