Concept/Purpose of the Work:
These maps and illustrations are part of an art program for the second edition of Minnesota's Natural Heritage, a book about the ecology, natural history, geology, and biology of the state, published by University of Minnesota Press, who owns the copyright.
The book design incorporated maps and diagrams that I originally created for the first edition 30 years ago. Some contained classic black and white scratchboard illustrations by Bell Museum curator Don Luce that created a distinctive look for the first version of the book. It was a challenge to restyle the old illustrations and incorporate the legacy spot art while giving the book a fresh look.

Results of the Work:
This is hard to quantify. Reviews of the book mention lavish illustration, which includes many photographs.
