Larry Wish – Stardust & Hurt – Album Art + Media Packaging
Submitter:
Adam Wish-Werven
Company:
Bumpy
Concept/Purpose of the Work:
The goal of this work was to create a visual in cassette packaging form. This visual was to represent a new album of synth-country songs by musical artist Larry Wish. Showing a strong, serene landscape of the Mississippi river fading into the distance uses the imagery of a river in motion as a metaphor for ever-changing life. It conveys the flowing movement of the music on the album, as well as the history of country music and its ties to nature. Water also represents emotion here, as many of the songs are about loss of love.
Results of the Work:
The results of the work were the providing of a well-chosen visual to represent the music on the album, as well as bridging the gap between an electronic music and country music aesthetic.
How the Work Was Delivered to the Masses:
The work was delivered to the masses initially in an advertising campaign across social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Soundcloud to promote pre-sales of the album in cassette/digital download form. Once the product was officially released, it was available across music streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, & YouTube Music, as well as for sale via the Bumpy website (bumpylabel.net) and the official Bumpy Bandcamp label page (bumpy.bandcamp.com).
