Interior Space Drawing
Submitter:
Samuel Fedderly
Company:
University of Minnesota Twin-Cities
Concept/Purpose of the Work:
This full value drawing was about rendering an illusion of space (using atmospheric perspective, linear perspective and other depth perception cues) and light (using a full range of values and portraying the effects of light). It’s also an exercise in composition: creating a visually interesting, atmospheric drawing that suggests mood.
Results of the Work:
This piece demonstrates an effective illusion of space, a successful application of complex cast and attached shadows, and a visual engagement of the foreground and background. This piece demonstrates my ability to combine several design aspects learned from Drawing and Design in Two and Three Dimensions.
How the Work Was Delivered to the Masses:
This work was created on Strathmore 500 9x12inch paper with graphite pencils. Unfortunately this piece was created during the COVID lockdown and was not presented to peers.
